Headphone Sketches: 2005
27 selections from 100 sketches of a pair of headphones. These drawings were done during the fall semester of my sophomore year at St. Olaf. Jill Ewald, my professor, gave my class this assignment, and I am grateful that she provided us the chance to play around with so many different media and concepts.
The media in the sketches varies: pencil, charcoal, collage, gesso, and ink. (My apologies for the quality of some of these photographs; they were taken in a basement with a few incandescent bulbs for lighting.) And, if you're curious, I still have these headphones lying on my desk, and they still carry a great sound.
